I'm actively looking for a new position - particularly in southern Ontario... but willing to consider relocating anywhere for the right opportunity!

Lots going on...
When it rains it pours around here - Lots of exciting things going on:
1) We officially awarded our next generation WAN - I'm really excited about the speeds being promised.
2) We were approved for our AS number with ARIN and can begin setting up our router now
3) We received our extra high speed BGP router from VYATTA ( http://www.vyatta.com ) a 2502 appliance. This means that we can finally set up our new ORION (http://www.orion.on.ca/ ) link and our new improved Internet connections.
4) I received my first trial set of Linksys 802.11N access points for two of my high schools - Widdifield and West Ferris.
On average, our schools will be connected at speeds 50 time their current rate, and our Internet pipe will be bumped by a factor of 10 (ignoring the sites that are peered on Orion) and wireless access will be in every classroom.
This will be a new technology generation for our school networks.

Elearning and Web 2.0
Today, Ive spent a little time learning about teaching with web 2.0 tools and social learning.
These tools are somewhat foreign to a digital immigrant like me but I can see that many
interested people are creating an initiative relating to how today's children learn and relate. I hope I can accomodate some of the thinking within our school board as time progresses.

Trying out the Web 2.0
Today I'm signing up for a variety of web 2.0 applications as suggested at the IBM Web 2.0 session.
It is my hope that I will garner enough of an idea of what's available in order to appropriately assist teachers and staff at our school board.
